Hey Mom and Dad,

Sounds like things are going well at home and everything’s in the normal. That’s awesome that Brad (Campbell) is home (from his mission), I wonder how he feels? I bet I will feel the same =D. Everything is going well here, In fact we have two baptism scheduled for this Saturday, so pray that they don’t fall through! I haven’t been sick at all. As for medicine, Sister Cox gave every companionship in the mission a big bag of Tylenol. I took some pictures today from our pday but the USB port on this computer is broken so it will have to wait till next week =(. Love ya bye!

We are really short on time today but I will answer your questions.

1. What do you do for drinking water?
--------Every month we recieve 50 pesos to buy a "Garrafon" which is the big bottles of pure water, that’s what we use to drink. But I usually buy 2 liters of Fanta or Sprite =D.

2. What kind of cars do people drive.
--------We see all types here, but for the most part I‘d just say old beat down Fords.

3. What do you do for fun on your p-day?
--------We clean the house, sometimes we go to a mall here, sometimes downtown, today we played soccer.

4. Do you see the effect of the influence you and the American Missionaries have in your ward?
--------In this ward we do, the people really love the American missionaries here so its nice to be received with open arms.

Elder Salazar,

I am thrilled to hear you will have a couple of baptisms soon.

We have been busy with Proposition 8; it defines marriage to be between a man and a women. On first blush, most folks think, why would I want to stop a couple from being happy whether they are hetero or homo? Certainly, I don't want to get in the way of folks' happiness. I suppose if that was where it would stop, it would be ok; however, it won't stop there. We will be sued to perform gay marriages, we could lose our tax exempt status, our ym will be taught in our schools that it is normal and ok, we may have to stop adoption services if we don't adopt to same sex couples etc.. Rather than let domestic partnerships work, the opponents of Prop 8 want to create a very divisive and litigious environment over this issue. The Prophet has asked for our help and it has been interesting pushing for Prop 8's passage.

Brother Lyle Johanson passed away last Thursday. I am going to miss him; he helped me put in a cement ramp at the Schnieders to make it easier to wheel Bob in and out. I think he got a kick out of my lack of experience working with cement. His funeral will be this Saturday.

I heard from Elder Aiono today; he is really doing well. This Friday our YM/YW will be at the Temple.

Take care -

Wonderful news Benjamin about your upcoming baptisms...that is so neat! You are doing a fantastic job there in Mexico and we pray for your success and safety.

Fall has definitly came to Washington state. It is such a pretty time of year. We have a huge tree in our front yard..a red maple that drops so many leaves. We will be busy with that job, but that's okay.

Mark and I just got back from a cruise to the Bahamas. Beautiful place! We tried to think of a way we could live there forever, but of course we came home. Oh well, we will go back there again someday!

How's your weather? Has it turned colder? Greg says in Russia it's starting to get colder...I think he's in for a big change soon!

Anyway, take care of yourself. We love reading your blog each week. Keep up the great work Elder!

Love,
Cindy and Gang

Elder Salazar,

Hello from matthew and I. We are glad to hear of your baptisms. How many does that total for you now? Matthew went to the temple on Friday for baptisms of the dead and he had a great expierence. He said the temple was very beautiful. He got to go with Dennis, Evan, Adam, Chris and Seth Olson and 2 Korean boys. He said being in the temple made him feel calm and peaceful. We had our Trunk or Treat on Saturday and the kids had there Dance were the 12 yr olds got to go. Matthew liked the spook alley! Matthew says have a great week and he is praying for you. Your dad and Tony went shooting the other day and had a great time. We miss and love you alot.
